Working with Jim has been such a rewarding experience, both creatively and personally. Underwater photography is an incredibly difficult and unique art form, but Jim approaches it with so much patience, warmth, flexibility, and understanding. Every shoot genuinely feels like a collaboration! We're creating something together rather than simply trying to get the perfect shot.
As a performer on land but not experienced in the water, I appreciate how comfortable and supported Jim makes me feel throughout the process. Underwater work can be both physically and mentally challenging and requires a lot of trust between photographer and model, and I’ve always felt completely safe, respected, encouraged and understood working with him. I leave every shoot feeling a little more capable, a little more comfortable in front of the camera, and honestly, even more beautiful. Working with Michelina as a coach has also made the entire experience so much easier. Watching her work in an observational setting before shooting with Jim prepared me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time and taught me a tremendous amount. She makes everything look effortless, but she has a very unique and specific method behind the scenes, and I truly don’t think I could have achieved what I have without her guidance.
